Portraiture Accreditation
As a member of Professional Photographers of Canada, I am honoured to be awarded my tenth Accreditation!
Since I began my career as a professional photographer in September 2010 I've been working hard towards earning this accreditation. It was a tough one for me to get as I was constantly learning portraiture techniques, attending workshops and conventions where so many great photographers shared their knowledge. From many of the old traditional masters I learned how to use lighting and posing properly. From my experiences judging image competitions alongside my peers, I learned to look for vision, impact, composition and technical aspects of the images I was judging, and making for my own work.
This one was the hardest accreditations to achieve so far but it was the most rewarding. Although my first nine accreditations were of subjects I loved to photograph for my own pleasure and to sell as stock photography or fine art, portraiture (whether it be children and families, headshots, or lifestyle) was always a challenge. But creating lasting memories for people has grown into a love of mine. Each of these ten submitted and judged images are special, and I thank all who contributed to my success in achieving this goal.
