Accreditations and Awards
"Accreditation is the first elevation above the general membership level, and is achieved by submitting samples of the applicant’s photography to a PPOC Board of Review for Accreditation. Accreditation demonstrates that the photographer is capable of delivering above average quality photography in a chosen category.
In assessing Accreditation Submissions, the judges will consider the following criteria: Impact, Creativity, Style, Composition, Presentation, Color Balance, Center of Interest, Lighting, Subject Matter, Image file quality, Technique and Story Telling." - Professional Photographers of Canada.
My passion for the outdoors and beauty in nature is reflected in my Fine Art photography. I have been photographing and creating beautiful images of wildlife and landscapes from my travels across Canada. My love of this great country is shown through visual images that evoke a strong feeling of belonging to this part of the world.
As a member of Professional Photographers of Canada since 2010, I have twice won the PPOC-BC Northern Branch Best in Class - Pictorial Trophy for images which are available as Fine Art prints. I have also won the Commercial - Best in Class trophy in 2014 from the Northern Branch.
At the 2019 PPOC-BC Image Competition, I received Best in Class - Pictorial/Floral for "Aurora - Goddess of the Dawn". This image was exhibited in The Best of BC: PPOC Juried Salon Exhibition at PHOTOGRAPHIE FESTIVAL in Vancouver in November 2019.
At the 2016 PPOC-BC Image Competition, I received Best in Class - Fine Art Trophy for "Oh, Happy Day!" for an image captured while photographing my first wedding. I also received the Jan De Haas Memorial Trophy - Most Creative/General Interest for the same image "Oh, Happy Day!" This image was exhibited in The Best of BC: PPOC Juried Salon Exhibition in the Capture Photography Festival in Vancouver, April 2017.
At the 2014 PPOC-BC Image Competition, I received Best in Class - Press Trophy for "One More Down" for an image captured while photographing for Prince George Minor Football. I also received two Judge's Choice awards for the image "The Guardian", which you can find in my Fine Art Photography store. I was also a Finalist for Photographer of the Year!
Many of my images have hung in the PPOC National Salon and two have been selected to be included in the prestigious Loan Collection. "Running Parallel" in 2014, and "Meconopsis Grandis AKA Blue Poppies" in 2016!
I strive to improve my craft and have earned the designation of Master of Photographic Arts and Service of Photographic Arts by accumulating merits through participation in the PPOC national print salon, by working for the provincial member associations, and by promoting professional photography within the community. I am Accredited in Portraiture, Environmental Portrait, Fine Art/Photo Decor, Image Manipulation, Travel Illustration, Botanical, Pictorial/Scenic, Nature, Ornithology/Bird, Animals, Wildlife, Stock, and Night Photography.
