2020 PPOC National Image Salon
"How Are The First Few Bites"
This image was Accepted in the 2020 PPOC National Image Salon. Captured on a misty morning, November 28th, 2018 at 10:50AM, on Long Beach near Tofino, BC. Not what I usually go hunting for, but I couldn't help myself. The seal was washed up on shore, offering a few days of feasting for the birds and wolves that roamed the beach. Nature is nature, and life goes on. The only title I could come up with is something I always hear in the restaurant. Probably not the best one I came up with, and this image will always be in my mind when I dine out.
"Aurora - Goddess of the Dawn"
This image was Accepted into the PPOC National Image Salon. This image received a Merit score in 2019 PPOC-BC Image Salon and was the winner of the Best in Class Award for Pictorial/Floral. It was exhibited in November 2019 at the UCB Robson Square where it was included with the Best of BC 2019 Travelin Exhibition images. Since joining PPOC in 2010 I have entered competitions both regionally and nationally, and have had many of my images accepted into the salons. Receiving a Best in Class award in the BC Competition is like icing on the cake for me.
Chasing Auroras is one of my favourite things to do. Elusive and beautiful at the same time. Captured on an early August 5th morning (12:36 AM) north of Prince George, BC. For safety and company, I always invite a photographer friend (other friends want to sleep!) who loves the chase as much as I do. This particular evening, I had the company of my PPOC friend and mentor, Philomena Hughes.

"Supernal Powers"
This image was Accepted into the PPOC National Image Salon. This image received a Merit score in 2019 PPOC-BC Image Salon. Captured on an early September 1st, 2019 morning (1:59AM) north of Prince George, BC. Another photographer friend, Judy Wiebe, was my model. I had taken three gowns with me on a whim because her two young daughters were going to come with us, but they didn't at the last minute. But Judy was up for it, and threw on the largest gown over her warm clothes and boots, and then we played on the bridge for an hour or so. It took me a while to decide to make this one a composite image by adding the sky to the lower corner to hide the structure of the bridge. The ribbons of light were the result of light painting efforts.
"Supernal Powers" is a Fine Art photograph expressing the immense power of the universe, if we only let it into our lives. Be open to it and it will be yours.

Thank you to my many friends, peers, and clients who have encouraged me over the years. A little piece of each of you goes into the making of my photographs. These images are no exception.
