Fall Family Portraits with Cee and Jon
Cottonwood Island Park is beautiful any time of year, but especially in the fall when family photos are in session. Cee and Jon's family, including their fabulous dog (he showed up in a tie!), were so much fun to photograph. Although the session they won at a silent auction was for one hour, there was no way I could keep a time limit for this session. We were having too much fun!
They are a hockey family and even through Covid and all the restrictions, they were still go, go, go! I loved the energy that exuded from them as a family unit, and individually. While Jon put the dog back in the vehicle, I was able to photograph the girls in the same location as the light filtered through the trees. Such gorgeous smiles!
Down by the river we had a few playful moments to capture the rock tosses and ripple effect, at the same time they were all looking at the camera. Phew, what hard work for a photographer! And I loved every moment of it, because I know how important it is for families to hang portraits on their walls! We had a good idea of what and where we wanted to hang images, and it was up to me to capture the moments to make a great collection.
The fun wasn't over after the time at the park. They had brought hockey jerseys, sticks, puck and whistle, and it just didn't seem like Cottonwood was the right place for that look, so off we went to the arena. Jon and Cee played around with the kids while I clicked the shutter. No worries about my own shadow getting in the way when I have Photoshop! I love these kinds of sessions where we just have some fun, like when I photograph wildlife. Check out the little video...
And thank you so much, Cee and Jon, for allowing me to photograph your beautiful family. I know you'll treasure your canvases and framed print forever!
