Swan Lake Rehearsal
"Swan Lake Rehearsal" - Accepted Image, 2021 PPOC-BC Image Salon
The Story Behind the Image:
On March 17th, 2018 I was enjoying the return of the Trumpeter Swans to the Vanderhoof area. As usual it was a cold, overcast day in March, and the swans were making their take-offs and landings on the frozen river. With their big black feet slipping and sliding along on the ice, I couldn't help but think how ungraceful they appeared, yet they were coordinated enough not to be flying into each other. That takes talent for sure...hence the title "Swan Lake Rehearsal".
While searching for images to enter the PPOC-BC Image Competition this year, I decided to give this image a try in the Animals class. I'm pleased to say the judges liked it!
